Very frustrating. A "16 bit tiff" is an tiff with 16 bits per channel. Loading... I know everyone says Macs are pretty immune, but I'm not totally convinced.

Displays are specified in bits per pixel, so a "24 bit display" allows 8 bits per RGB channel. Saving to your desktop, restarting Photoshop and/or changing type engines are not good answers. Try saving in in another format( tif of psd)-then open that file up and try to save as a jpg again. I can save in other formats without problem, this seems to be limited to JPG only. The other possibility is that some layers got duplicated, increasing the file size beyond the 2GB limit for jpg's.
