Highlight the "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" and click "Next" then "Finish" then "Yes." Your computer will now restart, and Pro Tools should stop giving you these errors. It even caused a kernel panic, which makes me think something else is going on.
Changing CPU usage from 16 cores to 15 cores, 14 cores etc. at 80-90% does nothing. Strangely, going to 8 cores (of 16) does the trick. In essence this allocates a full processor (7 of 8 cores) to pro tools and leaves the 2nd processor for anything else.
