The DVD burner burns single layer with no problems, and works ok with rewritable media both CD and DVD. After looking at numerous forums about this error, I found that almost all the "solutions" were obviously shear guesswork. Your writer is likely too old with outdated firmware, you're using new media to burn information too. Thanks all! I updated the firmware and it restarted working, but I got a power cal. Do not post your email address on any public forum!
