Format the card AFTER you've recovered your photos. I bout a new memory card 4. I formated the card on my PC, afterwards the camera recognizes it as a memorycard and can format it without any problems.
Hello, my camera is telling me to format my memory card, and when i click that option it then tells me "memory card error" and won't let me continue the process! I have used a 256mb SD card (not Sandisk) in the Powershot A510 and A520 without any problems. If you see any discoloration, try cleaning them with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.
