The lens does not retract.The logo is still there but very hard to see as the screen seems to be dark but it is there and freezed.So switch back to OFF thank you sooooo much. Thanks. For those of you that are having this lens error thing, the site I used was terrific and they were way less than Canon for the repair, plus they service up Canon G11 Lens Error Restart Camera Please help! Due to the common nature of this problem, it seems that Canon has dropped the numerical marking of this error in newer cameras, and is now using the term "lens error". Laden...

Just get out your vaccum , turn it on and then the camera. This was extreemely useful! I have a Nixon Coolpix L6. The only difference between the issues of both cameras is that with the older camera, I DID accidentally bang it on something at the zoo while the lense was open.
