Lens Error Restart Camera Canon

Does anyone know about how many or what percent of canon cameras result with this error?? Its repeated several times and I'll see if the behavior continues this wkend. Nothing happened to it, I did not drop it or smash it or anything. I'm not getting the "E18" error that people mention, but I'm getting the "Lens error, restart camera" error.

At times there may be grain of sand or other debris caught between the sliding barrels. It was working fine without indicating any problem... It must have gotten damaged when I dropped my camera. It was just a year after I bought it so Canon wouldn't fix it.
