You are underestimating your spells my friend as they are more like miracles from Divinity. twisted the lens and heard some worried cracks banged it hard a few times and miraculously it started working again .it does make a few grinding sounds now so im not The quoted repair cost is usually close to or more than what the camera is actually worth.

For the unlucky half, the next option would be replacement of the lens mechanism. Once the lens is replaced, or parts are replaced it requires thousands of dollars in software and special image tools to get the lens back into calibration. Any advice? We tried them all and ended up taking a few screws out and then oiling around the lens with sewing machine or hair clipper oil.
